You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what youre doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow. Note: If you can provide the latest night/build that the bug didnt exist, it would greatly help in tracking down what caused it.

Nexus 9 Hands on
Nexus 9 Hands on

Its quite a stellar device. The screen is incredibly sharp 2560 x 1536-pixel resolution and measures 8.9-inches across. Thats bigger than other Nexus tablets, like the Nexus 7, but we like where Google is headed here. Androids new Material Design, where visible, looks fantastic. And that added resolution should make text nice and sharp when youre reading books, watching movies and more.
HTC built the device and even included a few of its flagship features, like BoomSound speakers. We couldnt test them during our brief hands-on, but they should provide great forward-facing sound. We also love that HTC added a bit of a metallic border running around the device, which feels solid, though the black model we tested had a soft rubber back that recalls the Nexus 4.
We were mainly blown away by how light and thin the Nexus 9 is, despite the power it packs under its hood thanks to the Tegra K1 processor, which we already know performs admirably. Well bring you a bunch more coverage once we have a final unit in, but heres our first look with a video and some pictures that we grabbed during a very brief visit with the tablet this morning.

Kieners Route on Longs Peak
Kieners Route on Longs Peak
Last week was a fun experience. I was back spending a few days in Boulder, supporting Scotts book tour, seeing friends, etc. Part of this involved getting out on Kieners on Longs Peak with Buzz and Peter. Last fall, when my shin injury gave me time to rekindle my interest in technical rock climbing, Buzz started taking me out on the Flatirons for some scrambling--soloing on moderate terrain. After a few times up the uber-classic Third Flatiron, Buzz commented that we would do Kieners in the summer.
So, last Friday we did. Im working closely with Buzz and Peter (and Scott) on developing a series of new packs with Ultimate Direction, and one of them is dubbed the "Adventure Vest". Kieners would be a perfect line for testing the performance of this kind of pack. Kieners is a classic mountaineering route on an even more classic mountain. "Mountaineering" meaning that it isnt just a simple walk up a Class 2 trail, like most standard routes on 14ers around the state. Instead, K offers a spicy and engaging mix of standard trail; talus and boulder hopping; the ascent of an almost 1000, 50 degree snow field; and then Class 4 & 5 scrambling along the edge of the Diamond before summiting and descending the 5th Class North Face. Kieners consensus grade is 5.4, due mostly to some moderate crack-like climbing after the Broadway traverse.

Buzzs post re-capping the day is here, but from my perspective it was simply a joy to be with such experienced friends in such an exhilarating landscape. So much so, that as we were negotiating the moves that Buzz and Peter deemed the crux, I pronounced that I was going to come back the next day and hit it all again. The line is that good.

A critical piece of beta that wed taken advantage of the previous two days was that a climber working a project on the Diamond had fixed a rope on the North Face descent slabs. This little fact meant that, even in the current water-slick conditions, I could do the route in nothing more than a pair of shorts and sticky shoes (with climbing rubber) and carrying only a 3oz shell (always a good idea in an alpine environment, even if you dont use it), one gel, and a pair of tent-pegs for crossing the snow-filled couloir. A unique opportunity, indeed (at least until the Cables slabs dry out later this summer and I can just downclimb them).
Here is a quick synopsis of my day out looking to set an FKT, that I posted to the Satans Minions listserv.
Just got back from Longs Peak (for the third day in a row :). Worst conditions of the four times Ive been up there, with crazy winds between treeline and Chasm Lake.
Today was a concerted see-how-fast-I-can-go effort on the up, but, unfortunately, my climbing legs were way flat today and then the wind above treeline was extremely discouraging/slowing.
At any rate, going up Kieners and down the Cables and taking every short-cut I know of, I went 2:28:31 car-to-car with a 1:41:37 ascent and a 46:54 descent. I sat behind the summit rock catching my breath for ~20sec before leaving the summit at 1:42:00.
On the way down I ran into none other than Andy Anderson (the absolute RT record holder on Longs at 2:02:54, Cables up and down) hiking up the Jim Grove trail w/ another climbing ranger, and I stopped and chatted for 90sec-2min or so with him mostly because I didnt feel like I was actually on that quick of a descent pace (the wind had been throwing me around a lot whilst descending to and then crossing the Boulder Field); I really got after it, though, below treeline again (only a few navigational mistakes) and was really surprised to see my high-46min descent. Just w/o the stop to chat, I think I wouldve been approaching Andys 44min descent from his record run. Of course, I batmanned down the still-there fixed rope on the Cables, which I imagine more than makes up for the ~2min I spent talking with Andy.
I also lost a couple minutes by absent-mindedly climbing too high on the Lambs Slide ridge before traversing the snow over to Broadway. This put me at a wider part of Lambs Slide and also meant I didnt get to use the steps Id kicked yesterday, as Id planned. I shouldve just dropped back down the ridge 100ft or so, but was stubborn about not losing any elevation, and I think it cost me as I got into some pretty slow icy snow and actually climbed up to the rocks for handholds before dropping back down to the Broadway entry.
Other than that, I look forward to coming back with fresh legs and a more calm day. Also, getting the trail dialed in just below treeline and between the summit and the top of the Cables will yield another minute or two for sure.
Splits:
Goblin - 12:30
Battle Mt CG sign - 26:45
Chasm Lake (east end) - 47:30
Bottom of Lambs Slide ridge - 59:40
Start of snow traverse - 1:12:00
Entry to Broadway - 1:17
Base of Notch Couloir - 1:23:10
Diamond Step - 1:38:15
Summit boulder - 1:41:37
Left summit at 1:42:00
Top of Cables rope - 1:48
Chasm View - 1:50:40
Crossing Keyhole trail below Granite Pass - 2:05:40
Battle Mt Campground trail - 2:14:50
Goblin sign - 2:22:25
Trailhead - 2:28:31
Overall, I was proud of the effort, but I know it isnt my best, nor most focused, so I guess Ill be having to go back in the future.
Also, as per the above-mentioned run-in with Andy Anderson, Ive become quite interested in the absolute roundtrip record on Longs (generally speaking, the shortest/fastest route involves ascending and descending the North Face slabs). Currently at 2:02:54, sub-2hr seems like a worthwhile goal. In the meantime, I really look forward to continuing to deepen my relationship with this profoundly beautiful slice of Colorado.

How to install iOS 9 beta on your iPhone iPad or iPod touch
How to install iOS 9 beta on your iPhone iPad or iPod touch
Apple unveiled iOS 9 during the WWDC 2015 Keynote address earlier today, which includes a number of new features and improvements.
A short while back, Apple also seeded the first beta version of iOS 9 to developers.
If youre a member of the iOS Developer Program and want to install iOS 9 beta on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch then check out the step-by-step instructions.
Some important points before we start:
- Were assuming that youre a member of Apples iOS Developer program. If not you can enroll for the program for $99 per year.
- Beta versions are usually buggy, so please proceed at your own risk.
- Please ensure that youve taken a backup of your iOS device to iCloud or iTunes before you upgrade to iOS 9 beta.
- Please note iOS 9 beta is only compatible with the following iOS devices:
- iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
- iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, Retina iPad mini, iPad with Retina Display (iPad 4, iPad 3), iPad 2, iPad mini
- iPod touch (5th generation)
You can follow these step-by-step instructions to install iOS 9 beta on your iOS device:
Provisioning
This is where you assign devices for development and testing purpose:
- Login to Member Center on Apples Developer website.
- Click on the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles.
- Next click on Devices in the left navigational panel under iOS Apps.
- Then click on the + button to add your iOS device.
- Here you need to enter the UDID of the iOS device, which is a 40 hex character string. You can find the UDID using either Xcode or iTunes:
- Xcode method Connect your device to your Mac and open Xcode. Then in Xcode, navigate to the Window drop down menu and select Organizer. You should now see your devices UDID. Double click on it to highlight and press Command+C to copy the UDID to your Clipboard.
- iTunes method Connect your iOS device to your Mac and launch iTunes. In iTunes, select your iOS device in the Devices section and navigate to the Summary tab. Click on the Serial Number label, this will show the Identifier field and the 40 hex character UDID. Right click on the UDID and then click on Copy Identifier (UDID) to copy it to your clipboard.
- Go back to Member Center, now enter the name of the your iOS Device and paste the UDID that you have copied from the above step and click on the Continue button.
- You will be prompted to review the details. Click on the Register button, followed by Done to complete the registration process for your iOS device.
Download iOS Software
- Navigate back to the Member Center.
- Click on SDKs, followed by iOS 9.
- Then click on Download in the top right corner.
- Then select your device from the drop down.
- After it has been successfully downloaded, double-click on the zip file to extract the .ipsw file.
- Ensure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Install iOS 9 Beta
You can install iOS 9 Beta using Xcode or iTunes. It is a lot easier to install using iTunes and the preferred method for app testers, so I am mentioning the iTunes method here.
- Open iTunes.
- Connect your iOS device to your Mac and launch iTunes.
- In iTunes, select your iOS device from the top right corner and navigate to the Summary tab.
- Hold down on the Option key (or the Shift key in Windows) and click the Update iPhone (iPad or iPod touch) button.
- Now select the .ipsw file from the extracted folder to install iOS 9 beta and click on theOpen button.
- iTunes may prompt you that it will update your device with iOS 9. Click Ok to continue.
- You will get a Slide to upgrade slider after it reboots. Swipe on the slider to proceed.
- Your device will reboot again, and youll be greeted with the Hello welcome screen. Swipe on the Slide to setup slider and tap on Continue and follow the on-screen instructions to setup your device.
Thats it, youre all set to start testing your apps on your iOS device running iOS 9 beta.
As always, let us know how it goes in the comments section.

How to Install CyanogenMod 12 1 on the Moto X 2016
How to Install CyanogenMod 12 1 on the Moto X 2016
The Moto X 2014 had been well received by almost all tech bloggers worldwide and part of why it received critical acclaim was the stock Android-y interface that Motorola chose to stick to. However with the update to android Lollipop being buggy in the initial 5.0.x builds, the result was that the build for the mOto X had its far share of bugs too. Now while Moto works to iron out the kinks in its stock ROM, you can enjoy the bug free experience of Lollipop through CyanogenMod 12.1 that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Pre requisites
- Your Moto X 2014 must be rooted with its boot loader unlocked.
- You must have a custom recovery installed, like TWRP or CWM.
- Your phone must be charged over 80%.
- Some common sense and ability to follow instructions!
- If you have not flashed a custom rom on your device before this you will need to format your data partition in TWRP or you will get an encryption error
Downloads
- Download the latest nightly from here.
- Download the GAPPs from here.
With that done, lets get this show on the road.
Step 1
Boot into recovery mode. To do so, power off your phone press the power and volume down buttons at the same time for about 3 or 4 seconds and then release both. Scroll down to Recovery by using the volume down button do not press the power button to select. Press the volume key up once when on Recovery and this will select the option. You will see a quick boot screen. Give it a moment and it will go to boot options in just a moment. Press the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time (in the middle) for about five seconds and then press power button once.
The Recovery Mode menu will be displayed.
Step 2
Backup your current ROM from your custom recovery.
Step 3
Do a complete wipe, data and cache.
Step 4
Navigate to your SD Card and select the ROM zip file. Flash the ROM. (For your convenience we advise that you keep the zip file at the root of your SD card)
Step 5
If youre so inclined, flash the GAPPs package.
Step 6
Reboot. The first boot will take longer than others so dont panic.
Sensors / Ambient Display
If you have Ambient Display enabled in Settings >> Display then:
* the stow sensor and flat up sensor will pulse the display when the phone is picked up
* the IR sensors will pulse the display when you wave your hand over the phone
* the IR sensors will pulse the display when you wave your hand over the phone
